PTE – Approximately 20-25 hours per week

Available to work at early morning and late evening events.

Angel One Network Inc. is a member-based, not-for-profit corporation made up of active angel investors.  Our members are enthusiastically engaged in screening companies, conducting due diligence and after the cheque is written, using their experience and contacts to help their investee companies grow.

Angel One exists to serve its members. Our goals are to bring the most exciting companies available to our members and to help them obtain all necessary information to make an informed investing decision in a timely fashion.


Position Overview

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the ideal Marketing and Event Assistant candidate will be experienced in handling a wide range of administrative, communications and executive support related tasks and will have extensive experience organizing and coordinating office operations and procedures to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency.  This position will also play a key role in planning, promoting and executing regular events.  Thus, this person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible and enjoy the challenges of supporting a small office of diverse programs.


The Marketing and Event Assistant position includes office administration responsibilities, design work, project management, event coordination, marketing and social media support.


This role assures that the Angel One staff are operating at peak efficiency.  Excellent interpersonal skills are required with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.



  • Coordinate activities with team members to ensure alignment, synergies and efficiencies
  • Act as the ‘go-to’ person for operational matters
  • Proactively keep the Marketing Manager informed of operational issues before major problems occur and propose cost-effective solutions
  • Ensure engagement of colleagues in all activities and changes, as appropriate
  • In the absence of the Marketing Manager, accountable to troubleshoot issues, inquiries and requests and escalate as directed by the Marketing Manager
  • Lead special projects as assigned


Education and Work Experience Requirements

  • Relevant University degree/College diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience working in an administrative, operations or business support role


Skills, Knowledge and Attributes

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (oral and written)
  • Print and web design experience a strong plus
  • Familiar with WordPress or equivalent website content management tools
  • Office experience
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, focus on PowerPoint
  • Some experience desirable in a CRM SaaS programs, but not required – must be willing to learn quickly
  • Client-service oriented
  • Able to work well with a wide range of people, resolve problems quickly, and share information and experience
  • Project management experience an asset
  • Interest in entrepreneurship and new technologies a benefit

  • Able to manage shifting priorities and ad hoc projects
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Flexible, and nimble to provide “what it takes” to assist and support plan execution


Duties include:

  • Assisting with the management of all aspects of Member365 or whatever CRM and meeting management tool Angel One licenses: including meeting promotions, registrations, post meeting analysis, and online payment systems
  • Catering and promotional logistics for networking activities focusing primarily on events; seminars, workshops, conferences, and thematic meetings
  • Marketing projects including website maintenance, marketing collateral and use of social media tools to promote Angel One’s profile and activities
  • Work closely with the Marketing Manager, Business Analyst and Executive Director to develop and execute communication strategies for Angel One-related activities
  • Provide meeting and logistics support for staff and for Angel One members
  • Collection and analysis of meeting data



  • An aptitude for project management

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
  • Aptitude or interest in creative web design, search engine optimization and social media
  • Knowledge of the following is an asset but not required:
    • Adobe Suite products, including Illustrator and Dreamweaver
    • Content management systems, including WordPress
    • Customer relationship management products
